Resolution In A Bottle?

On a short note this afternoon, I was looking for something healthy and different to satisfy my thirst. Though I am an avid lover of spring water, I do enjoy variety of food and drink in my life.

Down I went to my “healthy drink cellar” to explore the options. There were many of them. But my quick eye movement caught the label with TeaZazz. My immediate brain response was “yes!”

I stock up on green tea varieties. So, my choice this time was Green Tea Lemon!
Why do I like TeaZazz? Just a few reasons to mention:

• Natural
• Low Sodium
• Low Calorie Per Serving
• Antioxidants Rich
• Amazing Original Flavors
• Different View on a Tea Product – Sparkling Variety
• Created by Women Entrepreneurs Tamara Saretsky and Delicia Soliman

Delicia Soliman
That was my afternoon – with TeaZazz Green Tea Lemon in my hand. Peaceful mind. Delightful resolution that came in a bottle of refreshing sparkling tea. Thank you Tamara! Thank you Delicia! For understanding the woman's soul on the tea level!

Try something different that is healthy and inspiring for you.

Elephant Dung... In The Hands of Your Child

Not exactly dung-dung, but the dung incorporated into the paper. And imagine that this dung saves lives of hundreds of elephants and boosts economic development in the Sri Lanka's rural areas.

When I first read this fascinating story, it was both funny – "dung" used as the paper ingredient – and emotional. Both at the same time.

Love animals and do my best to support local and national initiatives that are directly aimed at the rescue and the betterment of life of our animals, birds, and natural resources.

The story of the elephant dung begins in Sri Lanka with the alarming extermination of the local elephant population. Mr. Ellie Pooh, the Entrepreneur came up with the idea to use elephant poo for paper manufacturing. Out of such paper, dozens and dozens of beautiful, hand-crafted, colorful paper products are created.

What a great way to:
1. Save the Sri Lanka's elephant population, and
2. Create hundreds of jobs for the local human population!

And if you truly care about the Planet Earth, this paper is one of the natural, green products you can ever find for your personal use and give your kids to play and educate with!

My two-year-old calls the Mr. Ellie Pooh's paper I give him to draw and paint on "Mama Elephant Paper." What a nice simple lesson that comes with this paper that I can teach my child every time he sits down to do his own crafting!

I am impressed by the people who don't stop in front of a barrage of difficulties, and inspired by their genius solutions to save lives. Lives in a very broad sense, the biggest of all which is our Planet.

We Survived the Fire

Hello to everyone reading this blog. I have been out of the loop for a few days. The biggest stopper was the fire in our area that caused evacuation of 1652 homes.

This is just a short note about our recent ordeal with fire.

Some of you had heard about it and asked, others wondered where we disappeared to, so here is an explanation.

The great part about living high in the foothills is the view of 120 miles of the back range of the Rocky Mountains.

The downside is the fire potential.

Sunday evening a huge fire erupted on the National Guard Machine Gun Range a few miles from here (Herriman, Utah). A fire broke out, and with 40-50 mile an hour winds, it was to our area very quickly.

We evacuated Sunday evening late and spent the next couple of days trying to get back to care for our animals and retrieve needed items. With an evacuation order in place, the police and Army guys wouldn't allow us back in, but it was nice to know they were patrolling the area to keep out looters.

We got back in late last night after bunking in with generous family and friends and free-loading on their WiFi connections to keep our concerned family members informed. Everything, including hungry animals, seem to be fine now. It just smells like we are camped in an old campfire.

The fire stopped about 200 yards from our home. It destroyed the back yards of our neighbors, but the wind changed directions 180 degrees and saved the homes literally in the nick of time.
This is the fire just before it flowed over the mountain range to our side
This fire didn't wait for anybody. With the winds of 50 mi/hr, the flames spread quickly
Lucky for the wind shift, because the fire fighters never made it to our area, nor did the police. The neighbors just got together and decided to "order" our own evacuation, and help those who needed it.
The fire spread for dozen miles along the Black Ridge of the mountains
The neighbors around the corner weren't so lucky. Three homes burned to the ground.

Thank you all for your kind comments and offers. It is much appreciated. We are very thankful we have a home to go back to.

Celebrate Each Other Today!

Bags Of Goods – Customized To Your Lifestyle

Taking care of your home is a big part of taking care of the whole planet Earth. Let me explain.

For several years, I've made it my mission to transfer my whole household into a green, eco-friendly environment. I am always on the lookout for the best naturally derived products that can clean my house and home without any negative health effects.

Being a vegetarian, I say a loud "YES" to those products that are recyclable and/or contribute the minimum to the greenhouse effect of our planet.

That is why I celebrate and spread the word about the companies and their achievements when they do the right thing for the climate, and you, and me.

If you are a bag fashionista, you are not alone! The truth to be said about bags and purses: They do add character and conveniences to our image.

There are bags that are made of leather and those that use man-made materials for their unique looks. I do not buy those that are crafted out of animal parts.

Merle O'Brien does not use leather either. Yet, she is considered to be one of the most creative persons I've ever met in my life. What does Merle do? She saves our landfills from being trashed with unused fabrics and remnants of artificial nature.

After salvaging all of that, she turns it into a high Fashion. Bags and Purses. Check it out, these individual pieces are colorful, modern, and very comfortable to carry around. Any woman could choose a style and color she favors in her new acquisition and show it off to everyone!

These bags are Fun, too! They can serve a variety of uses: Shopping, Beach, Gym, Theater, Casual Wear.
*****
How did Merle come up with this idea to make bags out of the remnants of various fabrics? Here what she shared with us.

Merle O'Brien: The inspiration for OlovesM Bags came to me while I was in the downward dog pose in youga class.

The idea literally popped into my head – What happens to [yoga] mats that are no longer used or thrown out?

I did a ton of research to find out that a lot of mats are made from PVC and det tossed into lnadfills – even new ones!

So I went on a quest to find those un-used mats and make Functional-Unique-Hip-Sassy bags!

*****
I do love women who create such products that are both high in value and easy on the Planet.

Celebrate Recycling Fashionable Bags Today!

NB: I do trust you've gotten one of those recyclable shopping bags to carry with you to your grocery store! If not, please do so! – With love to you.

PS: If you have any questions to Merle O'Brien, please leave them in the comments below. She will definitely read and answer them.

Free Shoes... For Children Elsewhere

Just a few days ago, we opened our front door to see a hanging plastic bag with a stapled message: Need Your Shoes, Any Condition, Any Size – If Needed, Use Additional Bag Of Your Own – We'll Come Tomorrow By 9AM To Pick Up The Bag, Rain Or Shine.

My immediate response was to go and start collecting all the shoes that lie idly without a lot of use in the house into that big plastic bag. And that exactly what I did. And I thanked in my heart these people who do these Shoe Drives regularly. At least I hear from Green Eyes In Africa twice a year in my neighborhood.

First, when they just expanded their mission into our part of the world, I went online to research and actually to contact them to make sure it's not a scam. They happened to be such a great organization of people who are not only passionate about what they do, but treat any request and inquiry with great attitude.

Green Eyes In Africa is a non-profit organization with a mission to educate, empower and love the empoverished kids in Africa.

A few statistics taken from the Soles4Souls website:
• Over 300 million children around the world are without shoes
• Over 1.5 billion pairs of shoes lay idle in American closets

I love what they do. That's why my heart and soul respond so willingly to their request to donate shoes that some very fortunate kid in Africa shall wear.

Save the shoes you don't and probably won't wear in the near future from landfills by donating them to organizations like Green Eyes In Africa and Soles4Souls!

Celebrate Those Who Give Shoes Today.

Killer At Large Lives In Your Neighborhood

Probably, you've already guessed what kind of a killer I am going to talk about in this post.
OBESITY.

Yes, it is a national epidemic that everyone tries to solve – from the government agencies to private companies. Yes, it is a very emotional and personal matter. Yes, it is an exceptionally expensive priority we need to resolve. Not in a hundred years. But starting Today.

What truly matters is that this problem should be taken into close scrutiny by every single person who has it, who lives near by it, who is responsible.

Our kids are dying from this silent epidemic. Pretty soon, it won't be silent any more. As we will be hearing more and more waling sounds of parents, friends, relatives of ... you finish this sentence yourself.

Obesity epidemic is complex. It's not just stop eating junk crap and exercise more. No, it entails more. Much more. It requires 100% attention of you and me to start with.

If you want to change the fate of this generation of kids who will be dying before their parents will (CDC said that, not me), join me in educating yourself about this monster killer at large. Make truly healthy choices in foods you eat yourself and feed your family. Get your butt out there into the street and walk or jog 1K daily! Yes, every day!

This is a very emotional subject to talk about. But we need the truth splashed out into our faces from a huge bucket of reality.

Watch this short version of Killer At Large by Steven Greenstreet. How do we solve the obesity epidemic? Who is to solve it? When are we going to declare victory over it?

After watching the movie, if you are still not convinced that Obesity needs to be eliminated once and for all, you are probably blind and deaf. Please take care of your condition first.

Traveling With Chic... Can Be Uncomplicated

This post was quickly prompted by my recent trip to the local fair. We had a great time there, no denying it: pig races, doves, rabbits, sheep – you name it, they got it!

Now that my baby is potty-trained, it’s a delight to be Huggies-free and escort my toddler to the bathroom when he asks.

This time, the fairgrounds had one of those Happy Can–Drop Zone–Plop Jon portable toilets. We are thankful they were there, but there was no bathroom tissue inside that gotta-go-potties. What do you do in this case?

Run quickly into the neighboring portable?

No! Thanks to my “magic bag,” I produced one of those Tush Wipes that saved all the unnecessary agony about this sensitive subject. My toddler was happy and clean, and we were back to the fair enjoying the fun.

The Lesson.

Always equip your purse with little things that you think you’ll never need. You don’t need a ton of them! Have a couple, then replenish when they’re used.

I usually carry with me individually wrapped flushable moist wipes. My recent favorite is Feminine Wipes by PureTouch. Why they’re my last pick?

• They are soaked in natural ingredients like aloe, chamomile, cucumber, calendula
• Contain Vitamins A, C, E
• They are water, rather than alcohol, based
• They’re soft and have pleasant aroma
• Flushable
• Multi-purpose

Not so many brands strive to put truly natural ingredients into their products. If they do, it’s usually one or two great ingredients with a bunch of chemicals surrounding them. Not good. Not healthy.

So, make your pick! Read ingredients before you buy, if you truly care about your health, not just conveniences!

With love to you all.

What's In Your Blood Can Raise Your LDL, Bad Cholesterol

More and more research comes out these days to confirm how things that surround us – you, your family, kids, pets – are so harmful to our health. The more we live, the more we accumulate of that "stuff" that can easily result in cancers, chronic metabolic diseases, and at the end, death.

The newest discovery is that non-stick cookwear and waterproof fabrics are directly linked to higher LDL, Bad Cholesterol, in kids.

Wow, don't they get it? I mean the manufacturers, the retailer, the Government at the end, and the beginning. Profits are profits. But when there won't be people on this earth and in this country who are healthy, who can give birth to healthy kids, and who can propel all of us and the future generations to the progress of it all...

The final result becomes obscure, even with billions of profits in some pockets.
The least we can, and should, do collectively is to Not use the products that are harmful to the core of our human DNA.

Choose all that is simple, that comes from those who care, and works without a second thought of "What if in ten years?"

How do you choose? One of the simple steps is when you can read and understand ingredients on the label. If you start doing at least this – we're still in the game as a Human Race.

Thank You And Let's Celebrate Simple Things Today!

Please read the discussion in detail about the harmful effects of non-stick cookware and waterproof fabrics here:

Weightloss Motivation Tips by Jen Ryan, The Mooloolaba Founder

This is regular section where I ask the interviewee about their preferences, tips, wishes about their lifestyle that keeps them going.

Healthy weight maintenance is very important to not only live a happy, active life, but also to run your own business successfully.

Every woman does it differently, based on her experience, her knowledge, her focus in life. I asked Jen Ryan how can she be so successful and still find time to look and feel great. Here’s what she said.
*****
CelebrateWoman (CW)  Jen, have you had your weight challenges in your life, especially when you got involved with your business?

Jen Ryan (Jen) I did not have any difficulties maintaining my healthy weight in my life. My love for sports, active lifestyle, great living food of vegetables and fruit, plus fish supported me and my body for a long time.

Being in business and very busy, I still find time for healthy foods and exercise.

CW  What is the #1 tip for weight loss motivation for yourself?

Jen  Do something active every single day. At least 30 minutes of exercise for me on hte daily basis.

I am really aware what I put into my mouth food-wise. I do not eat deep fried foods at all.

And of course, portions, portions, portions! We do not need to eat ten pounds of food in one sitting!

CW  Any personal word for all my women-readers who do care about healthy weight and vibrant lifestyle?

Jen  Try to do something for yourself that makes you feel alive and supports your self-motivation.

It takes some self-training to “schedule” time for your own needs and wants. Do it without delay and hesitation.

Be conscious what you and your thoughts do to your own body. Stress, worries will only prolong your miserable existence. When you are at peace within, you make decisions that solve any critical situation no matter what. You are a winner, no less, no more.
*****
With Jen’s attitude about the importance of staying in peace with ourselves, all dreams are possible. Let’s celebrate our ability to release all the worries and find peace inside.

With that, the sky’s the limit!

Celebrate Yourself Today.

PS: If you have any questions to Jen Ryan, please leave them in the comments below. She will definitely read and answer them.
PPS: If you know a woman-entrepreneur who has created healthy product(s), please let me know, so we could spread the word about her and her contribution to this planet.

Moo-Loo-La-Ba – What Language Are You Speaking?

The language of Fashion. Comfort. Genuine performing fabrics that leave you in a state of magical, unnoticeable movement around your body.

My conversation today is about active, sporty, casual wear that totally fits me: both my body and my image.

How many times did I buy something brandy-trendy to find out that the performance of that clothing item was much less that expected and desired? Even such brands like Nike, at times, leave not a “smooth” impression on my skin.

I love clothes that allow me to workout without constantly pulling the top down or readjusting the fitting of my shorts. I also love the outfits that allow my skin to breath and look fashionable and feel comfortable.

Where do YOU go to find “your type of such clothes”? As for me, I go to Mooloolaba. Once you wore it, it’ll be hard to go to anything else, but MooLooLaba.

As you know, when I discover amazing things to use in my home, for my wear, for my lifestyle, my curiosity goes further than that. I get hold of the owner, inventor, creator of the product to find out Why’s, When’s, How’s.

Jen Ryan, the creator and founder of the Mooloolaba brand, graciously agreed to share what it takes to imagine and run the business like hers.

You’ll find out too. Just read the answers to the questions below.
*****
CelebrateWoman (CW)  Dear Jen, what was the beginning of your business? Why did you start something that has so much competition in the market place?

Jen Ryan (Jen)  My roots go to Australia. There, we wear light clothes, colorful clothes. When I came to the U.S., I brought my own outfits that reflected my culture, my environment, and generated a lot of questions of “Where did I get this skirt or this top?”

What stroke me at that time, that the active wear industry was pretty much devoid of colorful sportswear and served only certain age groups who enjoyed wearing their clothes.

I decided to change that with creating a new market nich for the women who are over 30 years of age and who would wear fashionable, colorful clothes suited for active and casual lifestyle. That’s how it all began.

CW  Any difficulties in the beginning of such business endeavor?

Jen  The biggest difficulty and a surprise for me was that big brands like Billabong, Quicksilver, O’Neil, Hurley, Volcom were really dominating the clothing market for the surfers. And it took a tremendous amount of effort to convince the retailers to try and carry the Mooloolaba brand for their customers.

But I started with the local surfers, supporting their efforts with my clothing. Slowly, the word spread out. So did the brand awareness.
Being in a very competitive environment, I wish I had a partner from the very beginning. That would allow us to share responsibilities and have more time to do what needs to be done for the success of a business.

But don’t take me wrong. I love what I do and would do it again... just a little bit different.

CW  Jen, how do you see your Mooloolaba lifestyle clothing line would effect your life in the future?

Jen  I like outdoor athletic clothes. Seeing people wearing my brand truly inspires me to create more and come up with different styles and colors for fashionable clothes to wear.

I so much enjoy the process of creating of new items, that I took a drawing class to be able to reflect on the paper my ideas of new designs and styles.

Staying open to the process is my way to living life. It shall take me where I need and want to be step-by-step.

CW  What is the #1 Thing you would say about your product to the customers?

Jen  The first thing that comes to mind is Quality and Function. The clothing items perform great when they’re worn on the body, and they last without losing its fashionable colors and quality.

CW  Do your family and friends know what Jen does with her business life? What would they tell me about you?

Jen  All of my friends and family are very much aware of my crazily busy life and what I do with my business.

They would tell me that I DO care about my company and its prerogatives. They’ll mention to you that I am a genuine, real, and open person. One of my friends nicknamed me Jen-uine Ryan.

I always take an extra step to deal with my vendors and customers. Personal touch is my trademark in everything I do.

CW  Has your involvement with your business changed your self-image, your personal relationships?

Jen  The business has come to be a huge strain on my relationships. What I learned during this process has served me a huge lesson.

One of the positives that I carried out during this time is ability to un-stress and embrace the journey. In my case, it is giving birth to a business with a million projects and design developments running parallel to each other.

The final result – I learned to take pride in what I do and enjoy my sailing across the rough seas.

CW  Jen, where do you find your source of refreshment and rejuvenation?

Jen  Exercise, especially yoga, have been my companions. Staying active helps me to focus and come up with fresh ideas for my business.

Taking lunch breaks has become my practice. Before, I ignored that time, thinking it’s a time away from my business. Now, I treat it with respect and don’t skip, unless it’s a necessity.

CW  How do you celebrate your victories?

Jen  I take vacations. Love to go home to Australia and spend some time with my family there.

Another gift I give to myself is long walks and taking Fridays off!

CW A few questions about your product. Who is your target market?
Jen  I designe for women 35+.  However, what I noticed, the Mooloolaba brand is very attractive to anyone who cares about style and comfort. So, younger generations use it as much as older.

CW  Please, give us some reasons to buy the Mooloolaba brand again and again.

Jen  All Mooloolaba clothes are of high quality. No matter how frequently you wash it, it will still look fashionable, without loosing its vibrant colors. Plus, all of our items are made in the U.S.A. It’s like supporting your local farmer: Support those companies that produce and manufacture locally, i.e., in your own country.

We donate part of our procedures to the Wild Aid, the non-profit whose goal is eliminating animal cruelty and deaths for the sake of harvesting animal parts.

CW Jen, how are the Mooloolaba clothes are different from your competitor’s?
Jen
• Lasting quality is our trademark.
• We use organic bamboo, soy fabrics with spandex woven into the fabric.
• All of our clothes items have 50 UV sun protection.
• The materials we use weaks away the sweat from the skin during the activity.
• We use sustainable blocks for the fabric production. That means that these blocks will be used again and again and not just thrown away after one use.

CW  Where can we buy the Mooloolaba brand?

Jen   Please visit our website www.mooloolabaus.com and buy anything you want from there. Also, check the “store location” button for the stores that carry our brand.

PS: If you have any questions to Jen Ryan, please leave them in the comments below. She will definitely read and answer them.
